Çeviri Öğretiminin Dil bilimsel Kılavuzu– Türkçe–İngilizce / A Linguistic Gııide To The Teaching Of Translation is the product grown out of my experience in teaching translation to ELL and ELT students; I strongly believe this book can address the need for a systematic approach to the teaching of translation from Turkish into English; to achieve the aim, I have made great use of morphology, a branch of linguistics.
It is my hope that the materials used in the book will be of practical benefit to individuals studying to translate from Turkish into English. in the choice of vocabulary, introduction of patterns and selection of examples, I have endeavoured to serve those who have taken Turkish–English translation courses.
The book tends to strike a balance betvveen grammatical points in Turkish and the translation depending on grammatical aspects of the two languages. My experience is that it is easier to teach translation in small grammatical doses than large ones, and I have, therefore, tried to keep the chapters constant in length.
Each graded chapter is carefully designed, covering form, pattern, usage sections and a practice section including a key to the exercises; furthermore, guidelines section follovving usage has also been provided for further clarification on the points under discussion. The student in the translation course normally has a wide variety of typical examples to illustrate the grammatical constructions in Turkish and the corresponding constructions in English.
