The Turkish Penal Code divided into two volumes. First volume contains general provisions such as basic definitions, jurisdictional issues, general principles of criminal responsibility, attempt, deprivation of rights, extradition, intent and recklessness, attempt, reasons for setting asidereducing criminal liability, legitimate defense and necessity, use of a right and consent, unjust provocation, mistake, minors, jointly committedoffences.
Second volume deals with different types of offenses such as genocide, offences against humanity, migrant smuggling, human trafficking, intentional killing, reckless killing, intentional injury, reckless injury, experimentation on human beings, trading of organs and tissues, abandonment, sexual assault, sexual harassment, abuse of children, threat, blackmail, deprivation of liberty, violation of the immunity of residence, discrimination, disturbing an individuals' peace and harmony, insult, violation of confidentiality of communication, violation of privacy.
