Many of Turkey's new residents hail from several countries in Europe, the US and the Gulf. Thanks to the amendments in Turkey's property law that lifted the reciprocity principle, foreign homebuyers and investors are now free to purchase nearly any property in Turkey. Moreover, foreigners who have acquired an immovable property worth a certain value with a title deed restricting sale for at least three years are eligible to acquire Turkish citizenship.
The primary objective of the book is to help investors to understand the path to ownership of a property, to address the current laws governing the acquisition of real estates in Turkey by foreign individuals through inter vivos transactions such as buying a propertyby inheritance, and to describe the procedure for the acquisition of Turkish citizenship through investment.
Relying on my specialized work and experience över 15 years in the field of real estate law, the book also is aiming to identify legal issues in this area and the issues underlying the current legal problems and their solutions.
